iPad Mini Stand

Pinspiration

This one is all me.  I got an iPad mini for Christmas (which I love and am addicted to).  I was looking for some kind of stand that worked in the horizontal and vertical format.  Most were for horizontal only.  I finally found a couple that worked vertically but they either weren't available or shipped from Hong Kong and I didn't want to bother with that.

My first thought was a plate stand would work perfectly but wouldn't travel very well.  I wanted something that folded flat.

Plastic canvas was the perfect solution!  It didn't cost anything as I had all supplies in my stash.

I used a plate stand for my measurements and the angle.  The two angled pieces are two layers of plastic canvas with corrugated cardboard in between.

The piece that holds the iPad in place is made from two pieces of plastic canvas.  Sew them together along one edge then sew the other edge of the bottom to the bottom of the front piece.

I sewed the first two holes on each side to the bottom to form sort of a trough so the weight of the iPad wouldn't make it flop.
I used velcro on the back to hold the pieces together.

Hopefully you can figure out what I'm talking about as I'm finding it hard to describe.

After I finished making it I had a vague memory that Michaels has plate stands that fold flat (which I confirmed yesterday).  Oh well, I enjoyed the creative process and spending no money.

  2. Plus you can choose a WIDE ARRAY of colors or patterns for this project...I did phone cell stands similar to this about 2 months ago. They turned out fabulous!
